Jointer PlaneThe jointer plane is a type of plane (tool) used to straighten the edges of boards to prepare them for gluing, as a step in the hand milling of wood, or for squaring long edges or faces of wood. It is typically 20 to 24 inches long. The jointer plane is also known as the try plane or fore plane.
